THE COMPETITION

Ice House is a big fan of Launch Festival and 2015 was no exception. Launch Festival took place on March 2nd to 5th at Fort Mason, San Francisco. The event is undoubtably the best place to launch your startup, raise money and learn the ins and outs about starting a company.

Proud to be a main sponsor of Launch Festival 2015, Ice House decided to share its love for startups by announcing the You Dream It, We Build It competition competition. We gave away an investment of $50k worth of development services to one lucky company who was selected from a panel of judges!

The competition drew a wide array of exciting and talented ideas and investment worthy companies. Let’s just say the winner was hard to pick with over 200 entries and some close finalists. After a tight finish the winner of the Ice House You Dream It, We Build It competition is Player.Me.

THE WINNER

Player.Me is entering a new space which is social discovery around gaming. The company launched in beta a little over a year ago and already has a user base of over 35, 000. Taking their existing web platform and delivering it to mobile, we will be creating a true second screen experience for gamers everywhere. The startup, still in private beta, Player.Me has shown significant traction in a short period of time and has managed to build a passionate and loyal user base.

Adriaan Ligtenberg who announced the winning entry to the stage on the final day of the Launch Festival says, “we are very excited to work together with Player.Me and look forward to their continued growth as an up-and-coming startup!”.

Jason Calacanis alongside Adriaan Ligtenberg, the co-founder and chairman of Ice House and Sean Fee, co-founder and CEO of player.me.
